Small Dumper Operation Precautions
While operating a small dumper has a low barrier to entry, strict adherence to operating procedures is still essential. Emphasis should be placed on safe operation and equipment protection to prevent accidents and equipment damage. The core precautions are categorized into three areas: safe operation, equipment protection, and emergency handling. These are comprehensive and practical, and operators must strictly follow them.
1. Safe Operation Precautions (Top Priority, Preventing Accidents)
(1) Operators must be familiar with the operating procedures of the small dumper and receive brief guidance before operation. Operating under the influence of alcohol, while fatigued, or without a license (no professional certificate required, but familiarity with the operation is necessary) is strictly prohibited. Minors are strictly prohibited from operating the truck.
(2) When operating the truck, operators must sit firmly and hold on securely. Standing, leaning out, or reaching out while the small dumper is moving or unloading is strictly prohibited to avoid extending one's body beyond the truck body and causing accidents. During unloading, no one is allowed to stand nearby, and personnel are strictly prohibited from staying or walking under the truck bed to prevent material from falling and injuring people.
(3) Before driving, all parts of the small dumper must be inspected to ensure there are no faults before starting. After starting, idle for 1-2 minutes (diesel version) to allow the engine oil and hydraulic oil to circulate before driving and operating. While driving, pay attention to your surroundings, especially the rear and sides (large blind spots), to avoid collisions with people or obstacles.
(4) The speed of the small dumper should not be too fast. The normal speed should be controlled at 5-10 km/h. When turning, reversing, or passing through narrow passages, you must slow down (speed ≤ 3 km/h) and sound the horn to warn surrounding personnel. High-speed driving and high-speed turning are strictly prohibited to avoid vehicle rollover.
(5) When operating on a slope, the small dumper must go straight up and down. Lateral driving, turning, and parking are strictly prohibited. The slope angle should not exceed 15° to avoid the vehicle sliding or overturning. When heavily loaded, try to lower the height of the dumper to maintain the center of gravity and improve stability.
(6) When unloading a small dumper, the vehicle must be parked on a flat, firm surface, the handbrake engaged, and the vehicle secured to prevent it from rolling. When unloading, operate the control lever slowly to avoid rapid tilting of the dumper bed, which could cause material spillage or excessive vehicle vibration. Unloading on soft, sloping ground is strictly prohibited to prevent ground subsidence and vehicle rollover.
(7) When operating an electric small dumper in an enclosed space, ventilation must be maintained (although there is no exhaust fumes, ventilation is still necessary for heat dissipation during prolonged operation). When operating a diesel small dumper in an enclosed space, proper ventilation measures must be taken to prevent exhaust fumes poisoning.
2. Equipment Protection Precautions (Extending Equipment Lifespan and Reducing Failures)
(1) Overloading and uneven loading are strictly prohibited. Operation must strictly adhere to the rated load capacity of the small dumper. Overloading will severely damage the frame, hydraulic system, rear axle, and other core components, shortening the equipment's lifespan. When loading materials, distribute them as evenly as possible to avoid uneven loading that could cause vehicle tilting and component damage.
(2) It is strictly forbidden to ram the body or bed of a small dumper into obstacles or heavy objects to avoid deformation of the frame and bed; it is strictly forbidden to push or drag heavy objects with the bed to prevent damage to the hydraulic system and bed.
(3) Avoid prolonged driving on sharp or hard surfaces (such as gravel roads or areas with piles of steel bars). Wheeled small dumpers should avoid sharp objects to prevent tire punctures; tracked small dumpers should avoid prolonged driving on hardened surfaces to reduce track wear.
(4) The hydraulic system of a small dump must not be operated without oil. Regularly check the hydraulic oil level and replenish it promptly to prevent damage to the hydraulic pump and cylinders due to lack of oil; use dedicated anti-wear hydraulic oil and never mix different types of hydraulic oil.
(5) For diesel-powered small dumpers, the use of inferior diesel fuel is strictly prohibited to prevent engine carbon buildup and accelerated wear. For electric-powered small dumpers, overcharging and over-discharging are strictly prohibited. When the remaining battery power is ≥20%, charge promptly, charging to 80%-90% to avoid prolonged charging and extend battery life. Charging is strictly prohibited at high or low battery temperatures. Keep away from fire and heat sources during charging.
(6) After operation, clean the equipment promptly, removing mud, sand, and residual materials from the vehicle body and dumper to prevent corrosion and rust. For long-term storage, the dumper must be returned to its original position, the equipment cleaned, the power disconnected (for electric models), and the fuel valve closed (for diesel models). The equipment should be parked in a dry, well-ventilated place, avoiding rain and direct sunlight to prevent rust and aging of components.
3. Emergency Handling Precautions (Responding to Sudden Failures and Minimizing Losses)
(1) During the operation of the small dumper, if any abnormal noise, vibration, oil leaks, water leaks, brake failure, or weak hydraulic system is found, immediately stop the machine for inspection. Forced operation is strictly prohibited to avoid exacerbating the problem. Contact after-sales service immediately to troubleshoot and repair the fault.
(2) When unloading material from the small dumper, if the dumper bed cannot return to its original position or tilts abnormally, immediately stop the machine, turn off the power source, and check the hydraulic system (e.g., oil leaks, hydraulic pump malfunction). Forced operation of the control handle is strictly prohibited to avoid damaging the hydraulic system. Contact after-sales service.
(3) If the small dumper rolls down a slope, immediately apply the brakes and pull the handbrake. If braking fails, the operator must immediately evacuate to a safe area to prevent the vehicle from overturning and injuring people. Simultaneously, contact professional personnel for assistance. Forcibly stopping the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
(4) If the electric mini dumper suddenly loses power during operation, stop the machine immediately, bring the vehicle to a stop, and check the battery and wiring. If the fault cannot be found, contact after-sales service for repair. If the diesel mini dumper suddenly stalls during operation, check the fuel and engine oil immediately, and check the fault. If the fault cannot be found, contact after-sales service for repair.
